The Spring '07 Journal Club runs in May/June and will discuss a case-study paper that details some serious incidents of hemolysis during haemodialysis. The paper is titled ‘Hemolysis: A Hidden Danger’ and was published in The Nephrology Nursing Journal, the official journal of ANNA.

Hi,

The latest Journal Club discussion has just started and the subject is HD vs HDF. The paper to be discussed is by James JB Petrie, Tsun G NG and Carmel M Hawley and is entitled "Review Article: Is it time to embrace haemodiafiltration for centre-based haemodialysis?" [Nephrology 2008; 13, 269-297]. It is an excellent review article that covers virtually all aspects of the debate from the technology and cost to the bio-chemical markers that may provide evidence one way or the other. It also provides a well balanced review of the published literature and evidence and comments on current and future trials.
